Gulf Islands is the largest of the national seashores, stretching 160 miles from Cat Island, Mississippi to the eastern tip of Santa Rosa Island, Florida. Its sparkling waters and beautiful sugar white beaches make it the crown jewel of the Gulf's Emerald Coast. The Seashore encompasses historic forts, coastal forests and marshes, and wilderness islands. Gulf Islands is home to four species of sea turtles, over 300 species of birds, and you can spot pods of bottlenose dolphins from the beaches. The climate is sunny and warm most of the year. Park headquarters is located in Gulf Breeze, Florida, across the bay from Pensacola (pop. 60,000). The community boasts excellent shopping, medical facilities, cultural and sporting events, and is home to the University of West Florida and Pensacola State College. Gulf Breeze and surrounding Santa Rosa County schools are among the best in the state. The cost of living is moderate, and a wide range of housing is available. You will serve as the Project Manager for several projects which are Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) Early Restoration projects. Duties include but are not limited to:
Engaging in the study, inventory, monitoring, restoration, and management of a broad range of natural resources including but not limited to, vegetation, wildlife, fisheries, exotic and pest species, sensitive species, and associated ecological components such as air, water, and soil; Developing and preparing major portions of the resources management plan primarily dealing with biotic resources; Preparing specific action plans pertaining to the management and protection of natural resources; Representing the superintendent when working with others to maintain liaisons and effective working relations with related groups and individuals, agencies and the public; Negotiating cooperative and interagency agreements and other cooperative instruments needed to effectively carry out resource stewardship goals; Developing request for proposals or statements of work and provides oversight for research projects; Serving as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative; Developing statistically valid data collection protocols for the monitoring of plant and animal communities and the results of protection, mitigation, and restoration projects; Preparing environmental assessments for projects in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); Basic Requirements Degree:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study or specific course requirements generally as stated in paragraph A in the individual occupational requirements, such as biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. - AND - In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, you must also meet the education and/or specialized experience requirements for the GS-11 grade level. Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience include:
Assuring that program goals and objectives meet legal requirements and reflect national priorities and policies utilizing knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and guidelines; Knowledge of program management and administration of budgets, contracts and personnel; Plan and carry out complex management and science programs; Efficiently managed the collection and summation of data and accomplish data analysis that is highly credible and meets scientifically acceptable standards by utilizing a knowledge of scientific data acquisition and analysis standards, methods and recording techniques. - OR - Combination of Graduate Education and Professional
Experience:
Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience. For example, an applicant with 6 months of appropriate experience equivalent to GS-9 (50 percent of the experience requirement for GS-11) and 45 semester hours of appropriate graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree (50 percent of the education requirement for GS-11, in excess of that required for GS-9) would be qualified for a GS-11 position. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
