Perform skilled work of considerable difficulty involving repairing, overhauling and maintenance of diesel engines and a variety of automotive, construction and related equipment of assigned work area.
Essential Job Functions:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential functions are fundamental job duties. They do not include marginal tasks which are also performed but are incidental to the primary functions. Performs advanced repair and maintenance on all fleet equipment to include complete engine rebuilds of complex multi system diesel engines.
Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems and all computerized engine control systems.
Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair on all hydraulic and air brake systems.
Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair on all electrical and lighting systems.
Completes detailed work order completion forms: to include parts, equipment, method and time for all work assigned.
Performs emergency roadside service and repairs outside of garage.
Performs basic and advanced steel fabrication and modification of various brackets.
Performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS: Must be able to perform heavy lifting over 100 pounds; possess strength and stamina to manipulate heavy metal parts; operate tools of the mechanics trade; requires bending, walking, reaching and working in close quarters; must be able to operate equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Repair shop; exposure to noise, oils, fumes, lubricants, chemicals and heat.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Construction, design, repair, adjustment of diesel motors; methods, materials and tools used in repair of diesel engines; calibration of equipment; operating principles of diesel fueled engines; occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions of the trade.
ABILITY TO: Follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationship with fellow employees and superiors; determine cause of faulty operations and determine corrective action.
SKILLS: Use of a variety of hand and power tools essential to make automotive and heavy equipment repairs; use of testing instruments.
Minimum Qualifications:

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent. Six years' experience in maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment.
LICENSE: Applicant must have a valid State of Florida Driver License at the date of hire with the ability to obtain a CDL (class B with air brake endorsement) license within 3 months of being hired and maintain said license while employed.
NOTE: Mechanics are required to have a complete set of basic tools to perform their job.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
